Steel Crossfire Tier List: Role-Based Character Picks Guide
Use this Steel Crossfire tier list as a community assessment built from comparable Bastion, Centurion, and Strato stats, roles, costs, and limits.
Open the official Steel Crossfire Roblox experience to verify the current live build.
This Steel Crossfire tier list ranks only what the evidence can compare. The community roster names fourteen characters, but structured cost, Health, Speed, Average DO, and role facts are available together for only Bastion, Centurion, and Strato. A complete S-to-D roster would therefore look confident while hiding eleven evidence gaps.
The useful conclusion is a set of role tiers: Centurion is the strongest documented all-round pressure candidate, Bastion is the clearest documented durability-and-budget candidate, and Strato is the clearest documented mobility/objective candidate. These are community assessments based on an archived snapshot, not official balance labels.
Ranking method and patch limits
This comparison uses four fields: community-documented core stats, the explicitly unofficial role label, character cost, and the documented weapon trio. It does not use crowd-voted TierMaker placements as factual rankings. It also does not assume Average DO is identical to current damage-per-second, because the community page supplies the metric without an official definition in the evidence.
The evaluation asks practical questions:
- What job is the character's documented kit built to attempt?
- How much Shard commitment does the archived price represent?
- Are the stats comparable across the same community source style?
- Does the loadout cover more than one engagement range?
- Which claims still need a live-game check after the latest patch?
This video discusses new systems, skins, and map context around the roster. Use it to see why balance lists age quickly; the written tiers below stay narrow because update footage is not a permanent stat table.
Role tiers for the comparable trio
| Tier | Character | Documented reason | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| All-round pressure pick | Centurion | 300 Health, 55 Speed, 330 Average DO; rifle, shotgun, and Power Blaster | 11,500 documented Shard cost and an unofficial Leader role |
| Durability and entry-budget pick | Bastion | 345 Health and a 1,750 documented cost; launcher, machine gun, and Power Blaster | 44 Speed and 187 Average DO in the community snapshot |
| Mobility and objective pick | Strato | 310 Health, 50 Speed, 231 Average DO; unofficial Capturer role and Jet context | 5,000 documented cost; aerial value depends on map and player execution |
Centurion leads the all-round pressure tier because the archived page gives the highest Average DO of the three, the highest Speed, and a weapon set spanning long, close, and mid-range labels. This does not mean Centurion wins every duel or justifies every budget. The 11,500-Shard documented cost is far above the other two examples, and Super Centurion is not included because its facts remain unresolved.
Bastion leads the durability and entry-budget tier. The documented 345 Health is the highest of the trio, while 1,750 Shards is the lowest archived price. Its Rocket Launcher, Machine Gun, and Power Blaster cover different weapon rhythms. The tradeoff in the same snapshot is the lowest Speed and Average DO values. If the live patch changes those numbers, the conclusion must move with it.
Strato leads the mobility and objective tier. The community labels Strato a Capturer and documents a Reaver profile with 310 Health, 50 Speed, 231 Average DO, and a 5,000-Shard cost. The Spread Launcher, Autogun, Twin Rocket, and Jet controls support a movement-focused reading. The value is conditional: an open aerial route, objective timing, and safe altitude matter more than a generic “A tier” badge.
Why the other roster members are not forced into tiers
The community roster also names Pointrunner, Revv, Skyflare, Suture, Snowkat, Hardline, Roughcut, Skirmish, Beater, Bonesaw, and Blizzard. This archive does not provide a complete comparable stat-and-cost row for each one. Ranking them anyway would reward documentation gaps, creator popularity, or name recognition rather than current performance.
There is useful evidence for some of them: a dedicated Bonesaw community page, Skyflare community stats in selected chunks, Roughcut gameplay footage, and Beater update coverage. Those sources are not equivalent enough to create a fair fourteen-character numerical ranking inside this article.
Instead, use an unranked pending live comparison group for those eleven characters. That is not a low tier. It means the evidence required for a defensible cross-roster tier is missing. A character can be excellent in the current build and still remain unranked here.
Pick by mode, map, and budget
A tier list is a decision shortcut, not a substitute for the match. On a map with strong open-air routes, Strato's movement context may solve more than Bastion's documented durability. In a tight ground fight, Bastion's Health and weapon pattern may matter more. Centurion's range coverage may be attractive when you can afford the documented cost and want one character to handle varied spacing.
Use this live selection routine:
- Read the current mode and objective.
- Identify whether the route needs durability, range coverage, or aerial movement.
- Confirm the live character price and stats.
- Check whether the character and form are available to you.
- Compare one alternative for the same job.
- Keep a Shard reserve instead of treating a tier as permission to overspend.
The community role labels are explicitly unofficial. Use them as compact descriptions, then inspect the actual current weapon and form. A player who understands the route and transformation timing can get more from a role fit than from blindly selecting the highest general tier.
How to update this ranking responsibly
When a patch changes the roster, capture the live values on the same date. Do not update one character from a new panel while leaving two old community snapshots and calling the comparison current. The test should hold map, mode, target conditions, and player familiarity as stable as practical.
For each candidate, collect:
- Current price and acquisition route.
- Faction, forms, and weapon names.
- The same displayed stat fields.
- One objective-focused match and one direct-combat match.
- Any temporary booster, event, or level difference.
- Patch date and server version when visible.
Separate official display values from community judgments. “Health 345” is a sourced snapshot for Bastion; “best tank” is an assessment that depends on current alternatives and mode. That distinction keeps the page useful even when readers disagree with the ordering.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the best character in Steel Crossfire?
The evidence does not support one universal best character across the full roster. Among the comparable trio, Centurion is the all-round pressure pick, Bastion the durability-and-budget pick, and Strato the mobility/objective pick.
Why are only three characters ranked?
Only Bastion, Centurion, and Strato have comparable structured cost, Health, Speed, Average DO, role, and loadout evidence in this archive. The other roster names remain unranked rather than being assigned invented values.
Is this an official tier list?
No. It is a community assessment with visible evidence boundaries. Roblox and Marmot's Oven do not provide these tier labels in the collected sources.
How often should the tier list change?
Review it after balance, map, mode, level, or acquisition changes. Recheck all compared characters on the same current build before moving a tier.
